What we wore event, part of Late at Tate April 2014

Photograph from the What We Wore style archive

Take part in an interactive workshop exploring street culture and subculture from the 1950's to now, and contribute your images to a live archive of streetstyle.

Photographer Nina Manadhar presents - the first personal history of British style; a photographic documentary of street culture and subculture from 1950–2010 through the lens of the people living it. This is a subjective history, in people’s own words and image.

In response to the BP Spotlight: Source, What We Wore invites you to contribute your street style images to a live archive, which explores style in relation to different cultural spaces, codes and the formation of groups. Check out for inspiration.

Before you attend please email one image to us by Thursday 17th April 10am. The image could be a photograph of your bedroom wall, a selfie, an item of clothing you love, your favourite musician, the area you live in, a flyer or image from a club/gig/party you have been to recently.  Alternatively you can bring a hard copy of this image when you attend this event.

Send to tate.collective@tate.org.uk (under 5mb please)

From the entries submitted Tate and What We Wore will, in its discretion, select those to be included in the archive.
