16 August 2014 at 12.00–17.00
Luca Manini collage

Come and create fantastical digital images as well as learn how to produce your own animated GIFs. Leap from the bizarre to the sublime with digital artist to create surreal and experimental comments on fashion in response to key themes of texture and collage in the BP Spotlight: Source display.

Luca Mainini is a self-taught artist and collagist who lives and works in Italy. His practice juxtaposes a wealth of contemporary images from the iconic to the bizarre, cutting and pasting imagery from fashion magazines to create surreal collages and GIF animations. Mainini describes his site as "my laboratory," a place where he is inspired to experiment freely. His works have been featured in Anna Dello Russo, Vogue Korea, Swide Magazine,  I.D, Vice and many others.

BP Spotlight: Source display has been curated by É«¿Ø´«Ã½ London. É«¿Ø´«Ã½ London plan and develop events for other young people, 15–25 years, to create, experiment and engage with the Tate Collection at Tate Britain and É«¿Ø´«Ã½.
