Women artists have often been mis-characterized in historical accounts, both intentionally and unintentionally; such misrepresentations have often been dictated by the socio-political mores of the given era. We will discuss the issues that lie behind this.
Maria Tavares, artist and art tutor will lead this 11 week course discussing the misrepresentation of women in art history and feminism. This is a hands on course where you'll be painting using acrylics and will have the opportunity to study the art works created by women around the Tate Gallery.
