Hear from Mテ。ret テ]ne Sara on her work as an artist and land defender

Mテ。ret テ]ne Sara's work draws on her lived experience as member of a reindeer herding family in Saフ}mi, the territory of the Indigenous Saフ[i people. Her works have highlighted the reciprocal relationship between Saフ[i people and the land, and the ecological issues impacting her community.

Marking the opening of her new site-specific work at ノォソリエォテス, this talk explores the importance of preserving Saフ[i ancestral knowledge and values to deepen our connection with the environment, and protecting the living world for future generations.

Mテ。ret テ]ne Sara's new commission will be open for you to explore from 18.30, the talk will then begin at 19.00. The artist talk is followed by an evening of Sテ。mi music and DJs in the Corner Bar, programmed by the Sテ。mi Cultural Export Office, beginning at 9pm.

Hyundai Commission: Maフ〉et Aフ]ne Sara is in partnership with Hyundai Motor. It is supported by Maフ〉et Aフ]ne Sara Supporters, with additional support from The Maフ〉et Aフ]ne Sara Supporters Circle and Tate Americas Foundation.

This event has been provided by Tate Gallery on behalf of Tate Enterprises Ltd.
