The late 1960s and 70s were a turbulent time in Italy. Boetti lived in Turin at the time of extensive strikes in 1969, and in Rome during the 70s, when a number of political killings took place in the city. He had no direct connection to the Autonomia movements but there might be some affinities between his practice and their ideas. This panel discussion chaired by the exhibition’s curator, Mark Godfrey, considers Boetti’s work in this context.
