Curator’s Tour: Mona Hatoum

27 June 2016 at 19.30–21.30

An hour-long tour of the first major survey of Hatoum’s work

Born in Beirut to a Palestinian family, Mona Hatoum settled in London in 1975 after civil war broke out in Lebanon while she was on a visit to Britain.  First known in the early 1980s for a series of performance and video pieces which used her own body as a site for exploring the fragility and strength of the human condition, this exhibition draws on thirty-five years of radical thinking combining her political and aesthetic concerns.

Clarrie Wallis, Curator of Modern and Contemporary British Art, leads this tour, before giving you an opportunity to explore the exhibition.

This event has been provided by Tate Gallery on behalf of Tate Enterprises LTD
