Sara Matson, Curator at Tate St Ives, and Miguel Amado, Associate Curator of The Far and the Near, reflect on the process of selecting works from the Tate Collection for the exhibition. They will draw out parallels with St Ives and strands of modernism in other geographies; consider historical lineages and contemporary affiliations of the St Ives ‘school’; and address the unstable relationship between location and identity which characterises St Ives as a place of art production.
