Dear Pepi,
Like a ghost, tired and half blind, I skulk around the streets of London. This is just a greeting and a sign of life. My convalescence is terribly slow. Yesterday I went to Wimpole Street to see my old doctor, who helps me as best he can.
It’s so difficult to make a call here; the telephone boxes are either occupied by some prole or there’s someone waiting outside in the rain and I have to cut the conversation short.
I hope you’re both well.
