Description

[Transcription/translation]

20 April 1969

Dear Dr Hodin,

I’m sending you here the newspaper with poem and self-portrait. I have thanked Dr Maass and asked for a few copies, but no reply as yet. Perhaps he has none. Also enclosed here is a letter from the critic Ludwig Kunz (Amsterdam), which goes with the article on Herbert Ihering, which I sent you with the contract from Dr Sabais. You didn’t mention it. It’s written in Dutch, and I can’t read it. Could you? And actually I am very disappointed and sorry to hear that Dr Sabais won’t be at the exhibition at Justus Liebig Haus. The exhibition is being organised by Herr Krimmel from the art department. So far I still haven’t heard whether the drawings have even arrived!!! I guard my work like Alberich the Dwarf the Rhinegold, but still I forgot that most of the earlier paintings are in a special room and are easy enough to handle. No help required. By the way, I wasn’t in Germany for the opening of my exhibition. Ludwig was there.

Sincerely yours,

EM
